What is it?
Tired All The Time Blood Test
Feeling tired all the time is a common concern, but when fatigue persists, it can be a sign of an underlying health issue. The LoveSelf Tired All The Time Blood Test is designed to uncover potential causes, helping you either rule them out or identify them so you can take the right steps towards recovery.
This comprehensive panel examines a wide range of biomarkers to pinpoint the root of your fatigue. We begin with a full blood count to detect anaemia or other blood disorders, measure C-reactive protein (CRP) to check for signs of infection or autoimmune conditions, and assess liver and kidney function to ensure these vital organs are performing optimally.
Blood sugar levels are tested to screen for diabetes, while essential micronutrients — including vitamin B12, folate, and ferritin (iron storage) — are measured, as deficiencies in these can often lead to ongoing tiredness.
Whether taken at home with our simple finger-prick kit or in-clinic, all samples are processed in our accredited UK lab, with results usually available within 24 hours. Your personalised results will be delivered securely and clearly, helping you make informed decisions about your health and lifestyle.
By understanding what’s really behind your low energy, you can take a proactive step towards restoring vitality and improving your overall wellbeing.
Is It For Me?
If you’re not sure exactly what you need, we advise all our clients to consult with a GP or one of our Registered Nutritionists before taking any blood tests. However, below you can find more information about this panel, and we hope it will help.

Clinic appointment - how to prepare for the Tired All The Time Blood Test
If you are coming into one of our clinics for the test, this is what you need to do before you arrive:
- Read the instructions in the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS section
- Drink plenty of water about an hour before the appointment.
- Avoid coffee/tea/energy drinks. Water is good!
- That’s it! We’ll do the rest.
Home test kit - how it works with the Tired All The Time Blood Test
Our blood test kits are simple and convenient.
The most important step in doing a blood test at home is to read the instructions very carefully. The process is very simple, but there are a few pitfalls you need to be aware of - you will save yourself a lot of time if you do it right the first time around!
- Full printed instructions will arrive with your kit - please read them carefully.
- Drink plenty before taking the sample and warm your hands up in the sink with warm water for a few minutes. This will make your blood flow much better.
- Fill the tubes to the top line. We don’t need much blood; filling tubes to the top line is about 15 drops of blood.
- Post the samples on the same day you take them, before midday, Monday to Thursday. If you post it any other time it might get to us late or be stuck at a sorting office over the weekend. You will then have to do it again.
- Package the sample in the same box the kit came in. Otherwise, Royal Mail or DPD will reject it. The sample tubes go into a pouch, then into a cardboard box, and then into a return envelope. All of this is provided in the kit: please use it.
We look forward to receiving your sample in our lab!

Doctors notes
DR. ADAM STATEN - GP VIEW AND RED FLAG SYMPTOMS
Tiredness is often attributed to our fast-paced, stressful lives, but it can also be a sign of various medical conditions. The Tired All The Time Blood Test is designed to identify or exclude these conditions as sources of your fatigue, guiding you towards effective treatment options.
We evaluate your full blood count to rule out anaemia and other blood disorders, and the CRP marker to check for infections or autoimmune disorders. Thyroid function tests are conducted, as an underactive thyroid frequently leads to fatigue. Additionally, we assess liver and kidney health, as issues with these organs can contribute to tiredness.
Your fasting glucose levels are tested to exclude diabetes, another prevalent cause of fatigue. The test also measures crucial micronutrients such as vitamin B12, folate, and ferritin, which indicate iron levels. Deficiencies in these nutrients are common and can be readily treated; they often result in significant exhaustion. This extensive testing approach ensures a thorough assessment, helping you address the root cause of your fatigue.
Red flag symptoms for the Tired All The Time Blood Test
Even if your blood tests are normal, you should see a doctor if you have any of the symptoms below because they may be a sign of serious underlying illness:
- Unexplained weight loss
- Drenching sweats during the night
- Persistent fevers
- Your fatigue is progressive and disabling
FAQS
If I forget to fast, is the test still valid?
Most of the tests on this screen do not require you to fast. We interpret the blood glucose level on the assumption that you have fasted, so if you forget then it may lead us to believe there is a problem when there isn’t. A ‘random’ glucose (i.e. taken when you haven’t fasted) can still be useful, a normal result is reassuring but a high result should prompt further investigations.
How does this test exclude autoimmune conditions?
We check CRP, a marker of inflammation often raised in autoimmune conditions. The screen also checks for the result of various autoimmune conditions such as abnormal thyroid hormone levels, abnormal liver or kidney tests, or high blood sugar levels.
Will this tell me if the menopause may be causing my tiredness?
No, we don’t test the female hormones in this test. You may be interested in the Female Hormone Blood Test which will give you that information.
Can I see a GP to discuss my Results?

"Recently, I had a blood test for hormones and was absolutely impressed with the service. Upon arrival, I was immediately offered water, and the studio was bright, beautiful, and Instagram-worthy. The specialist greeted me, helped me fill out the form, answered my questions, and reassured me that everything would be quick and painless — and it truly was! The atmosphere felt more like a spa than a medical procedure. Just a few days later, I received detailed results for each test and was offered a consultation with a doctor to review and explain them. I love how the service supports you from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and caring. Highly recommend!"
