What is it?
Female Fertility Insights Blood Test
Understanding your fertility can feel like a complex journey — but the right insights can make all the difference. Our Female Fertility Insights Blood Test gives you a comprehensive view of your reproductive health, helping you plan with clarity and confidence.
This advanced test measures key hormones including luteinising hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), testosterone, prolactin, and thyroid function, as well as Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) to assess your ovarian reserve (‘egg count’). These markers are essential for understanding your fertility potential, identifying conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) or early menopause, and detecting factors that may affect both conception and pregnancy health.
Simple and precise, the test is carried out through a quick blood sample, processed in our CQC-accredited lab, with results typically ready within 24 hours. By taking this test, you’re making a proactive step towards understanding your body, supporting your fertility, and preparing for a healthy pregnancy and future family well-being.

Clinic appointment - how to prepare for the Female Fertility Insights Blood Test
If you are coming into one of our clinics for the test, this is what you need to do before you arrive:
Read the instructions in the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS section
Drink plenty of water about an hour before the appointment.
Avoid coffee/tea/energy drinks. Water is good!
That’s it! We’ll do the rest.
Home test kit - how it works with the Female Fertility Insights Blood Test
Our blood test kits are simple and convenient.
The most important step in doing a blood test at home is to read the instructions very carefully. The process is very simple, but there are a few pitfalls you need to be aware of - you will save yourself a lot of time if you do it right the first time around!
Full printed instructions will arrive with your kit - please read them carefully.
Drink plenty before taking the sample and warm your hands up in the sink with warm water for a few minutes. This will make your blood flow much better.
Fill the tubes to the top line. We don’t need much blood; filling tubes to the top line is about 15 drops of blood.
Post the samples on the same day you take them, before midday, Monday to Thursday. If you post it any other time it might get to us late or be stuck at a sorting office over the weekend. You will then have to do it again.
Package the sample in the same box the kit came in. Otherwise, Royal Mail or DPD will reject it. The sample tubes go into a pouch, then into a cardboard box, and then into a return envelope. All of this is provided in the kit: please use it.
We look forward to receiving your sample in our lab!

Doctors notes
DR. ADAM STATEN - GP VIEW AND RED FLAG SYMPTOMS
Prolactin plays a critical role in the regulation of reproductive hormones, particularly Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which are key to regulating the menstrual cycle and ovulation in women.
However, elevated levels of prolactin can disrupt this delicate hormonal balance, potentially leading to irregular or absent menstrual cycles (amenorrhea) and anovulation, where the ovaries fail to release eggs regularly or at all. This condition, known as hyperprolactinemia, can significantly impact a woman's ability to conceive due to the suppression of ovulation.
Prolactin influences the luteal phase, the crucial second half of the menstrual cycle that plays a vital role in maintaining a pregnancy. High prolactin levels can lead to a luteal phase defect, making it challenging to sustain a pregnancy. Understanding and managing prolactin levels are therefore essential for women facing fertility issues, as they directly affect menstrual regularity and the overall health of the reproductive cycle.

"Recently, I had a blood test for hormones and was absolutely impressed with the service. Upon arrival, I was immediately offered water, and the studio was bright, beautiful, and Instagram-worthy. The specialist greeted me, helped me fill out the form, answered my questions, and reassured me that everything would be quick and painless — and it truly was! The atmosphere felt more like a spa than a medical procedure. Just a few days later, I received detailed results for each test and was offered a consultation with a doctor to review and explain them. I love how the service supports you from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and caring. Highly recommend!"
